Emma Wiggle had her boots up on the couch,
A bowl of popcorn balanced, not a crumb knocked out.
On the screen, that old movie sign was taking quite a fall,
She leaned in close and said, “Well, there it goes, y’all.”
Emma watched it tumble, shook her head and grinned,
“Never thought a movie night would get this wild again.”
The picture kept on rolling, the popcorn disappeared,
Then somebody called from out beside the hedge:
Valerie the yard cleaner came marching through the door,
With a rake across her shoulder and grass clippings on the floor.
“Emma, just a heads-up, I’m nearly through the yard—”
The screen went quiet, Emma laughed, “Well, that was sudden, Val!”
Emma watched it tumble, shook her head and grinned,
“Never thought a movie night would get this wild again.”
The picture kept on rolling, the popcorn disappeared,
Valerie’s got one more pass, then the coast is clear.
Emma saved her seat, Val went back outside,
The old sign met its fate while the leaves took one last ride.
